History

A reputation for caring

HealthConnect Inc. is a Canadian company with a solid reputation for managing strategic consumer and patient care programs. We've been providing relevant health and wellness programs for consumers, patients and the pharmaceutical industry since 1991.

22 years of creating new solutions

  • In 1991 we launched 80/20 Communications with a service that didn't yet exist: Project Management for the pharmaceutical industry. We actually promoted our services as "Rent a brain"! We continue to provide strategic and marketing expertise to clients under our Brand Care solutions.

  • 1992 heralded the first edition of p.r.n. Directory, which published its 20th Anniversary edition in 2012. The directory is still "The ultimate resource directory for the pharma industry" with comprehensive listings of Canadian pharmaceutical companies as well as the partners, vendors, groups and associations that are integral to pharmaceutical marketing in Canada.

  • In 1993, long before "patient-centric", "patient adherence" and "self-managed healthcare" became popular terms, we developed consumer friendly materials and programs that helped people like our parents, siblings, friends and colleagues learn more about their conditions and diseases. Even back then we focused on the importance of looking after diet, exercise and lifestyle choices as part of health and wellness. We called our programs "PEP": Patient Experience Programs and implemented them through physicians under our Clinical Monitoring Group division.

  • In 1996 the HealthConnect division launched as an early electronic resource for healthcare services and information. Before the internet was widely accessible, before the days where information was widely published, this service allowed us to provide information to consumers, patients and healthcare professionals.

  • By 1999 we offered a full service condition, disease, health and product information contact centre under the HealthConnect division.
    DDX Health Strategies Inc.

  • In 2000, the parent company was called DDx Health Strategies Inc. DDx is the abbreviation for Differential Diagnosis, which is the process of determining what differentiates diseases and conditions that have similar symptoms. We used it as a model for our "Blue ocean" approach to both our business and the solutions we provide for our clients, who have included many of the top ten pharmaceutical manufacturers in the world.

  • In 2009, we rebranded the company as HealthConnect Inc. This corporate name better reflects the way our programs and solutions simplify access to information and support for people who need and want help.

  • Today, we continue to work with pharmaceutical and health care companies to develop and implement strategically sound consumer and patient care programs that add benefit to their products and services. Inherent in everything we do is an attitude of CARE for the people and professionals who seek and use the information, programs, medications, devices and services that we provide on behalf of our clients.
